A Trip To Kuala Kurau (古楼一游)

Passing through Tanjung Piandang on the way to Kuala Kurau. Finally arrived at Bagan Seberang Kula Kurau; a small fishing village in Kuala Kurau, northern Perak. Just in time for lunch. Most of the people here are followers of Taoism and Taoist temples can easily be seen in this village. There are a few home stay proprietors and this is one of them. Shrimp drying is an economic activities in this fishing village. An eating outlet in the village. The delicious 'kerabu noodles' (酸菜海鲜面线) and deep fried small squids (油炸小鱿鱼) are must try in this village. The curry noodles is a must try if you like spicy food. Main ingredients are shrimps and small squids. The deep fried shrimp cakes (虾煎) should not be missed. This is supposed to be Taiping unique beverage called 'hor-ka-sai' or 虎咬獅. Literally translated to 'tiger bites lion'. It is a mixture of local coffee and Milo. It is diff
